Cuttyhunk Oysters are a Atlantic Oyster from one of the Massachusetts & Rhode Island oyster appellations. They are cultivated at the farthest end of the Elizabeth Islands on Cuttyhunk Island at West End pond. Cuttyhunk Oysters are farmed by the lantern suspension method. Lantern suspension is a Japanese method of oyster aquaculture which is very unique. Oysters are suspended in lantern shaped nets in deep water their entire lives. They are free from predators & silt.
