Royal Miyagi Oysters are a Pacific Northwest oyster from one of the Britsih Columbia oyster appellations on the Sunshine Coast near Vancouver Island, BC. They are raised by the suspension line to beach method which combines two oyster farming methods. Line suspension oysters are taken from their pampered environment and put into the beach cultured environment during their last 6 months before harvesting. This allows them to "toughen up" a bit, giving them stronger, less brittle shells and firmer meats.
See proper shellfish storage methods for the best way to maintain the shelf life and flavor of your oysters. Also, check-out our list of where to buy raw oysters.
