National Beef Programs
Certified Angus Beef
Certified Angus Beef is a high-end beef program which offers steaks and roasts from Angus Cattle. Only 8% of all beef makes the cut to be approved as Certified Angus Beef, and there are 10 strict specifications which the beef must pass. The history of CAB began in 1978 when the first CAB was sold in Columbus, Ohio. Certified Angus Beef offers an excellent Cuts of Beef poster. More information at certifiedangusbeef.com.
Pacific Northwest Beef Programs
American Wagyu Beef
American Wagyu Beef is often called the American Kobe Beef. It is a cross-breed of Japanese Wagyu cattle and Black Angus cattle. In order to raise 100% natural beef, Snake River Farms in Boise, Idaho has adopted many aspects of the heritage-steeped Japanese feeding method, including a slow-paced and sustainable diet that includes Idaho potatoes, soft white wheat, corn and alfalfa hay. The marbling grade of American Wagyu Beef is represented as being higher than prime grade.
Double R Ranch
Double R Ranch has 3 tiers of quality steaks and roasts. Only premium beef that meets exacting criteria carries the Double R Ranch brand name. Double R Ranch Northwest Beef is hand sorted and includes only USDA “Choice” quality grade and higher. It is the premier beef brand in the Northwest.
Double R Ranch "Signature" beef includes only the top 1/3 of USDA Choice Grade beef marbling scores. It is the highest quality USDA approved "Choice" beef program in the nation.
